“Wishing: Diaries of a Teen Pregnancy” is an intimate look at a young woman’s journey through a teen pregnancy. This is a story of sixteen-year-old Kim, and her relationships with friends, family, her boyfriend and herself.
Sometimes shocking, the story is a true one. The book is told in Kim’s own words. Throughout her experiences, she diligently placed her daily reflections onto the pages of a diary. In this book, her diary bluntly describes her feelings and experiences as she navigates peer pressure, drug use, teen relationships, sex, and finally, pregnancy.
“Wishing” starkly illustrates how the misuse of drugs and alcohol can cloud the ability to make healthy choices. These pages take you through the highs, the lows and the moments in which Kim experienced inevitable remorse for her actions.
A truly moving story, “Wishing” offers great insight into the psyche of a young woman. It clearly conveys a young woman’s desire for intimacy, her confusion, misgivings and pain as she searches for love, meaning and for herself.
